Crazy Praise Club is Christ-centric, bible believing ministry.
Our instructors facilitate creative and interactive events designed to build intimacy with Christ while building community! We are passionate about inspiring women to put their faith in motion, grow in intimacy with Christ, and discover how best to use their gifts and understand their purpose.
Here is what we believe:
We believe in the three persons of the trinity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the son of God, that He died and rose again for our salvation. He is the only avenue to God the father, and we are saved by grace when we repent of our sin and call out to God.
We believe that God wants to make Himself known to His children. We seek to passionately pursue an intimate relationship with God in response to His love for us. Knowledge comes from prayer, scripture, and worship of Him. Our creative praise for our Creator is a way of adoring Him and growing in knowledge.
We believe worship and praise should encompass our entire existence, where all circumstances, words, and actions glorify God. Growing in devotion through creative praise is one way we do that.
We grow best in a community of believers. We seek to amplify the knowledge of the name of Christ through building community and facilitating global outreach so that all people can know the healing power and grace of Jesus.

Crazy Praise Club is an idea we’ve been using since 2013 with small groups, churches and online to facilitate growth and new intimacy with the Lord. Personally, when I’ve gone through seasons that felt “dry” spiritually, the one thing that has ignited growth is encountering God in a new way.
My greatest credential is my personal experience. I’ve never been an artist (that’s why I partnered with an amazing one!), but visual, hands-on art projects focused on my praise has changed my life.
My passion is writing. My book, Joyful Hearts – The Transformative Power of Praise, documents a journey of how we can expand our worship experience to know God more intimately. It’s full of ideas about how you can expand your practice of praise, build community, and draw closer to Him. There are additional resources in the book for you to dive in further. It is such a labor of love and and an honor to bring these practices of praise to believers worldwide.

Karen Shogren leads workshops using art as an active process of devotion. These methods include creating personal journals and pages focusing on depicting thoughts, verses or emotional processing in a visual format without the use of words.
Karen developed therapeutic art classes with residents of a local Addiction Recovery center for 16 years.
She has worked with mission organizations using these methods as a form of mentorship.
Karen views these art forms as a way to partner with the Holy Spirit to bring insight and focus into unexplored areas of the Soul not confined to the boundaries of words.

Amy South
With a long career in business development, Amy is leveraging her corporate expertise in her true passion; helping women grow in their faith. Having recently completed School of Discipleship and Mentoring training, Amy currently facilitate a women’s small group through her church. With Crazy Praise Club, Amy is establishing partnerships and leveraging her business development background for personal, community and church outreach. As a survivor of a life-threatening illness, Amy believes strongly in the power of God’s miracles to overcome any situation. Amy is very family-oriented as a proud Mom of two beautiful daughters and six grandchildren, who she may spoil from time to time (wink).
Kyle Horton
Kyle’s background in operations, engineering and IT give her the ideal perspective to help with business processes in Crazy Praise Club. With the spiritual gift of service, she loves working behind the scenes to facilitate a great user experience for every partner and recipient ministry. Her strengths including managing changes through process, organizational and cost improvements tied to business and ministry strategies. Her gifts will inform the organization structure and communications for Crazy Praise Club. Kyle’s family includes her grown son who serves in the military, and her daughter, who is pursuing her career in the Atlanta area. She’s also close to her extended family of nieces, nephews, siblings and her father.
Carole Townsend
As Crazy Praise Club’s primary advisor for writing workshops, Carole is leveraging her 20+ year success as an author, newspaper correspondent and blogger to speak into her ministry passion; helping others document and tell their stories. She is known as an ardent researcher and engaging writer. Carole has been a guest on CNN, FOX, NPR, and other major network news and talk shows. In 2024, she launched
WRITEADVICE.NET, an online coaching site for aspiring writers. A well-known advocate for women, Carole also speaks to groups of women and works one-on-one with those who have escaped and survived domestic abuse.
Carole resides outside Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband and their two beloved dogs. When she’s not writing, Carole enjoys gardening, cooking, their grandchildren, and travel.
