So, here we are on Day 11 and I get an email from my church's job board saying I have an employer interested in me. I applied for this job way back in mid-May and had frankly forgotten about it. But, I got an email from the owner saying he was coming into town next week to interview and would be filling the position before he leaves! Sounds promising! It's not my ideal job, but it something I think I would enjoy AND it's very convenient. Thank You God!!! Several other things look like they could break loose as well in the next two weeks. Please re-double your prayer efforts on the job front.
And, I had a great day with my friend Scott. We went to church together, he took me to a salad bar for lunch, and we went and saw his boat and walked the marina, and then we went on about a two hour bike ride. So, I had an amazing day all in all. The fasting itself - not getting any easier, but it is becoming a bit more routine. The great thing is that my friends have all been incredibly supportive - I've eaten out three times with three different friends and each of them has been supportive with regard to the fast. So thank God for that. I learned one very important lesson today, though, ALWAYS carry a supply of water with you everywhere. We didn't have water and the ride turned out to be more hilly than we thought, so I was feeling pretty dehyrdrated. Of course, the second we were done Scott got me a huge thing of water and I felt much better.
The praise team at church sang a song I had requested of them a couple weeks ago, so I started out the day good and it went uphill from there! I love it when that happens. Oh, and my friend Leslie who is supposed to be in Alabama, she surprised me at church by coming home early! She brings a ray of sunshine to my day, so I was SO glad to see her!
The prayer focus for tomorrow, Day 12, is the Holy Spirit is using your fast: Right Relationships and Kingdom Connections. God has provided me with a whole bunch of new Christian friends recently, and I thank him so much for that. I ask that he continues to bring people into my life who will strengthen me, support me, and correct me. Job fairs tomorrow, so please pray!
