I'm blogging a bit early today because I'm so excited to tell you the good news.....I got a call for a job today! It's Sunday, I should mention, and I was talking to a fellow unemployed buddy of mine on the phone after church when my phone kept beeping with a number I didn't recognize. When I got off the phone, there was a message to call this recruiter I had met several weeks ago at a job fair. She has the PERFECT job for me, I am so excited about it, and I hope it all works out!
So, apparently the fast IS doing its work and shaking loose some of the stuck places. I'm supposed to also get a call from another place that has my resume. Remember, my focus was three fold. The job is just one part of why I'm fasting - it's also to deepen my relationship with God, our "love song" if you will. I am also fasting so that my body will be in better balance, and to break the enemy's stronghold on my poor eating habits.
Today has been a good day, praise and worship in church was AWESOME! The guys were really rocking it out, and I felt a special closeness to the Lord. I'm settling into my food and eating plan, but for some reason today I've had a horrible sweet tooth. I think it's because my friend I'm living with was baking a cake, her sons were coming over for Father's Day, and I smelled it all afternoon. She said she thought Jesus would forgive me if I had a slice, and I said - "Are you kidding, on the very day that I've had a tremendous reward for my obedience? No way!" and that was the end of that.
In one of my guidebooks, it says fasting is a constant prayer. So even when you're doing something else, you're praying. I've tried to be mindful of that and I'm talking to the Lord more frequently, but not as long each time. My body seems to be settling in. Headaches are totally gone, no more upset stomach, haven't really been hungry other than the sweet tooth - and it's a LONG time to go until I can have something sweet!
Tomorrow is already Day 5. I have a busy day, my normal crazy Monday morning and afternoon of networking events, and bible study at Northpoint Church tomorrow night. I MUST take the time to plan my food and take with me what I'll need to eat for the day, or I'll be in trouble. The prayer focus for tomorrow is: Spiritual and Physical Health and Healing. Sounds good to me! Please pray about this job possibility, it would really be perfect for me and I'm hoping I get it.
Talk to you tomorrow!
